NRG-ORION: Have completed projects with total capacity of 4.1 MWp
“NRG-ORION officially announces the completion of projects with a total
capacity of more than 4 MWp. Many of these projects have been in operation
for more than 2 years, and their energy efficiency is outstanding.”
The projects above were highlighted in a company presentation, which
also stated: After 4 years of operation in the sector of photovoltaic
systems and since the connection of the first of the company’s first
project “ENERBAK” on 01/02/2008, NRG-ORION has completed projects with
a total capacity of 4.1 MWp.
The table below shows all the projects that have been installed. Most of the projects have now been connected to the grid, whilst some of them are at the connection stage. The performance of all projects is outstanding. Mr. Loukas Vlachos, representative for the electricity company named ELEFTHERIA VLACHOU – SOFIA PAPAPASCHALI OE in Kastoria, said: “After 1 month of operation of the 2 photovoltaic electrical plants, each with a capacity of 99.66 kWp, to our great delight we see that, when compared to other photovoltaic plants using the same technology in the wider area, our photovoltaic plants have 15% more energy efficiency.” Mr Michalis Papapaschalis, representative of the same company, mentioned: “It has finally been proven that the choice of NRG-ORION was correct. We believe that the top quality equipment used, in combination with the excellent design, will have long-term benefits that will balance out and offset the additional cost.” NRG-ORION has experience in projects with capacities between 20 kWp and 1.5 MWp.
The President and CEO of NRG-ORION, Mr Matopoulos Theodosios, commented that: “Our company policy is for our projects to reach perfection. My staff and myself keep constantly up-to-date with developments in the industry, as well as those in similar industries that are directly related to our projects. We are very interested in detail. We believe that there are many companies in the field, and many investors. A great number of photovoltaic projects have been completed in the last year. Unfortunately, mistakes are made in many cases, sometimes irreversibly.
For example, the need to move a heliostat because it is in a shaded position is irreversible. So investors have to be very careful because even the larger companies in the industry have made tragic mistakes, and it is the investors who will eventually have to pay. Seriousness is crucial when handling projects, even those for the smallest roofs. Investors spend large sums of money that they have either acquired with great effort, or that they have borrowed.
So the aim must be for their investment to be profitable and safe.” Beyond the projects it carries out, NRG-ORION trades in systems for small installations. An online facility is being created for direct purchases of photovoltaic products. Products will be distributed from the company’s warehouse at Vathylakkos, Thessaloniki, and there will be an opportunity for direct shipment to the buyer.

NRG-ORION HAS COMPLETED THE LARGEST PHOTOVOLTAIC PROJECT IN GREECE
A few days ago, NRG-ORION, a company which builds photovoltaic plants,
completed the largest project to be installed in Greece with sun monitoring
systems. The plant has a capacity of 1.5 MWp and was constructed on
behalf of the electricity producer KRONOS SUN ENERGY SA, subsidiary
of the preserved food company KRONOS SA.
In the next few days the plant is expected to be connected to the electricity supply and the final adjustments will be made to the central inverters and sun-monitoring systems. The President and CEO of NRG-ORION, Mr Theodosios Matopoulos, stated: “The KRONOS SUN ENERGY project is a benchmark project. Both the design and the choice of equipment were based on quality rather than cost. The use of sun monitoring systems for such a large project is unusual in Greece.
However, the investors, representatives of KRONOS SUN ENERGY, decided to change this fact, maximizing the energy efficiency of their photovoltaic installation. We hope that the days the plant is in operation will be sunny, and that they will become an example to be imitated by other potential producers of electrical energy using photovoltaics.” With regard to the project itself: Installation began in May 2010 and was completed in October 2010.
Photovoltaic panels from the German company SOLON SE were used, along with central inverters made by SMA, sun monitoring systems by IDEEMATEC, medium-voltage equipment and transformers by AREVA, special LAPP KABEL and FABER KABEL cables, and earthing and lightning protection from PROPSTER and Furse. The plant is expected to have a CO2 emissions reduction of 2,049,457 kg.

have completed arrangements for the inverters and monitoring systems of the sun.
The president and CEO of NRG-ORION Theodosius Matopoulos says:
"The project of KRONOS SUN ENERGY is a reference project. Both the design, and the choice of equipment was based on quality rather than cost. The use of tracking systems in such large projects is not common in Greece. But investors, representatives of KRONOS SUN ENERGY decided to change the data by maximizing the energy efficiency of the photovoltaic installation. We hope the days that will operate the project to be sunny and investors KRONOS SUN ENERGY become an example for other potential producers of electricity from PV ».
About the project: The installation began in May 2010 and completed in October 2010. We used the German photovoltaic company SOLON SE, the company's central inverters SMA, tracking systems IDEEMATEC, medium voltage equipment and transformers AREVA, special cables and LAPP KABEL FABER KABEL-lightning and grounding protection PROPSTER and Furse.
